howard, no offense, but you need to come out of your
little ideal world where children are as organized and capable as your own. There are many children, often the brightest and most creative, who, despite their parentsī best efforts just canīt cut it with a formal education program, and all that is needed to get an official diploma. You are once again generalizing when you call parents who donīt pursue this for their children "cheap and lazy". What an insult to these parents. I forget who it was who
said that with gifted children " beware of the danger of formal education" Anyway, that said, give people who are different than you a break, and stop making so many assumptions... until you walk a mile in their shoes.
