If you want to use the schoolīs materials, that is fine and you are within your rights to do that. But PLEASE understand that you are under NO obligation to do so.
And even if you take their materials home, you do not have to follow their curriculum- you can modify anything to suit the needs, interests, learning style of your family!
I have actually never heard of anyone having their objectives rejected and I do not see in the law where the school district has that authority. In fact, I donīt remember the exact wording, the law does even point out that the objectives cannot be used to determine whether an appropriate education is occuring.
We file an INTENT to home school, not a REQUEST.
Here is the quote from the law:
The required outline of proposed education objectives shall not be utilized by the superintendent in determining if the home education program is out of compliance with this section and section 1327.
Remember you are required to follow the requirements of the LAW, not your local curriculum office.
