I don´t know how much advice i can give you, but moral support I have. We also homeschool in Philadelphia. Fortunately, our kids don´t want to go to "regular" school. We also have one with many special needs who is currently in a cyber charter for Kindergarten, but we´ll probably take him out at the end of the year.
Our kids also don´t have many people to play/hang out with. We haven´t been connected to a group in a long time, and when I tried to join one through yahoo groups, I never heard back from them. If there´s a way to communicate directly, maybe we can try to start a new group.
I know exactly how you feel thinking other HSers not having problems and struggles. The kids all seem so smart, so put together, their homes are beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, and then I look at my four kids and our house and wonder what am I doing wrong?
I know there are other families in your position, in which the kids don´t want to homeschool for various reasons. I think for some kids it´s just a phase, that they want to appear "normal". Considering the age of your daughter, this might be part of it. We´re blessed that our kids definitely don´t care about being "normal", at least the oldest two. Our youngest are too young to think about those things.
I know there are a few other people from Philly on the board. Is there a way we can arrange a meet up?
