In my daughter´s case, it turns out there is a small group of girls in her gymnastics class at the local Y, and she wants to go to the school they go to (I found this out when she spoke to my husband tonight, after I posted that msg.)
So, he told her that if she does go to a "regular" school, it would have to be a parochial school, since there is no way he nor I will put her into a public school in this city (a/k/a zoos).
That was how we found out she wanted to go to the specific school these girls go to. She quickly was made to understand that that´s not going to happen.
I´m going to get her involved more in extracurricular stuff, in the hopes it takes her mind off this....there is a group my older daughter is involved in, involving being a buddy to special needs children. Maybe if she makes friends that way, it will make her forget the gymnastics girls, I´m hoping.
But if you´re in Philly, maybe we could get our kids together too? What part are you in? I´m in the NE.
