As I understand it, school districts are required to provide textbooks for homeschool students.  However, I believe that it can take some time for the SD to respond to this request, and it might be difficult to do mid-year.  i would suggest you try to find some other homeschoolers in your area and ask them to borrow some items for a few months.  A second option would be ebay, or other source of used textbooks.  You can sometimes find books there for next to nothing, and you can always re-sell them when you are done.  You did not say how old your daughter is.  Younger children may not need as much in the way of books, and may do well with library books for science and history, and workbooks from a book store for math and reading.  The internet is also a great source of free educational materials.  BTW,  you will want to make sure you are understanding the homeschooling law for your  situation.  If she is not enrolled in school at this time, and is of compulsory attendance age, you will still need to follow PA law and have an evaluation done for the time that you homeschool.  I could be wrong on this, but make sure you understand.  Check out askpauline.com for some good info.
