Homeschoolers Richard and Margie Cressy from Montgomery County NY were arrested and charged with child endangerment for homeschooling their four children underground for about seven years. They have since filed their paperwork with the school district and are homeschooling their four children, aged 8-14 legally.
Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has agreed to defend the family should they be taken to court. This high profile case (it´s gotten lots of national publicity) may help HSLDA get the restrictive NY homeschooling regulations changed.
