Well, these materials could possibly indeed count as a ´civics´ credit (which is part of social studies). Not actually seeing the materials, it´s a bit hard to judge-- not sure how long the books are, how in-depth, how historically-based, etc. I´d say if the approach is more about *personal* relationship conflict resolution, then it´s more of a ´family life´ course, which would be under ´other electives´. If the materials would go into specific historical instances of non-resistance (India and Ghandi, the US Civil Rights Movement, etc...), then I´d feel very comfortable counting this as a social studies credit.
