I have been considering homeschooling my son. He is 12, almost 13. 7th grade. He is a very intelligent, bright young man. He has adhd as well as a learning disability with written expression, and separation anxiety. (he has difficulty putting on paper what is in his head)
He has missed so much school that the district is sending me the nasty grams, with the possible fines, etc. I am trying really hard and he is trying really hard. I just donīt know if I am trying to put a round peg in a square hole. He is emotionally immature as far as others his age, he gets made fun of constantly at school, which makes him not want to go and then he falls behind in class and the make up work frustrates him, and then Iīm frustrated. Right now this is taking up every waking moment of our lives. Is it unusual to start homeschooling at this age? Any suggestions?
