This Saturday, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Museum in Avella, PA, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Albert Millerīs discovery of prehistoric artifacts. They will have rockshelter tours every half hour, lectures, and activities. Dr. James Adovasio, professor of archaeology and anthropology, will hold two question and answer sessions, Dr. John Nass, professor of Anthropology at California Univ., will discuss prehistoric technology, and Dr. Dave Dixon, history professor at Slippery Rock, will have a presentation on Native Americans. There will be Native American flute music, and a book and print signing by Artist Robert Griffing. I think this would be a great history field trip! Directions to Meadowcroft are on their website.
