5th Annual Western PA Spring Volleyball Tournament

Who can participate:

· Co-ed senior teams (all participants must be age 18 or below as of Sept. 1 2007)

· Co-ed junior teams (all participants must be age 14 or below as of Sept 1, 2007)

[All participants must be homeschooled or cyber-charter schooled students in grades 6-12. Teams play six players at a time including at least 2 boys and 2 girls.]

When:

· Friday April 25, 2008, 8 AM -- 6 PM

[Teams traveling from a distance can arrive as late as 10:30 am and still play a full tournament schedule. You do not need to plan to be there on time since less than half the teams will begin to play right at 8AM.]

Where: Monroeville Sports, Monroeville, about a mile from the Pittsburgh (Monroeville) exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. From Monroeville Exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 57) take Route 22 West Business a very short distance until you get to Route 48. Turn left onto Route 48 South. After the Fourth Traffic light go down hill and turn right onto McBeth Drive just after the CGI Wireless store. Go a short distance on McBeth. Driveway is on left. You have just passed it if you come to Manor Care Health Services.

How:

· There will be two age groups (Junior and Senior). During the final round of a Swiss-system style tournament, the matches that the top four teams play will be a playoff (first vs. fourth, second vs. third) with the winners playing in a championship match.

· The championship matches will follow the playoff matches and will be followed by an awards ceremony.

Cost:

· Entry fee is $110 per team payable to PA Homeschoolers. (An additional $5 per team will be charged if you do not e-mail in a team roster with each player's AAU number before the tournament.) All players must be AAU members (To join go to www.aausports.org or call 800-AAU-4USA; You can use Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Club Number: WPVBX96KB8.)

[Registration deadline is March 31, 2008. Pay $10 in advance, and remainder at tournament. The facility only has four volleyball courts. If more teams sign up than can be accommodated, preference will be given to western Pennsylvania teams. Teams from other regions will be accepted based upon the order that they send in the deposit. Deposits will, of course, be returned if a registration is not accepted.]

Send in a separate form for each team by March 31, 2008. Please include a $10 deposit.

Please register our Senior Junior team (circle one) in the in the A B division (circle one or two) for the April 25, 2008, tournament. If more teams sign up than can be accommodated by the four courts, preference will be given to Western PA teams and those teams from Central or Eastern PA who sign up first.
