Would this be similar to pulling a child out of public school to homeschool them? And for those that have pulled a child out of school this late in the year, what do you do about the past year and the grades? How does it work? Can someone run through the basics for me? I understand homeschooling (as I have been doing it for 7yrs now), but have not pulled a child out in the middle/end of the year. So I am at a loss as far as how to start this and what has to be completed (as far as curriculum and the homeschool laws). Do I just submit an affidavit now and just start homeschooling? And do I just pick what I want to use for curriculum? Or do I have to follow the subjects that my child was studying (iow: do we have to do Earth science or can we do any science)? Basically, my dd is in a cyber school and it is just not a good fit for her...she is failing some of her subjects. Do I just tough it out, or should I pull her now....does she take a failing for all and re-do the grade next year? Or should I have her work on the subjects that she is failing (ie: work on science, but not necessarily doing Earth science which is what she failed in cyber school). How does this all work when you pull a child out near the end of the year to homeschool them?
Or should I just let her fail the courses, finishing out the year and possibly hold her back next year (homeschooling her)?
Thanks for any help.
