While I normally think the state interferes way too much, in this instance, it seems warrranted. The number of pregnant teens and those who have already given birth is startling, as is the fact that they *are* committing crimes -- marrying more than woman and having relations with children is a crime.

Further, they noted on the news that a large number of the children (boys and girls) had broken (or at one time broken) bones, and that some of the boys may have been sexually abused too.

While I donīt think that people should have their kids taken away based on religious beliefs, or just being "different", when those differences are having relations with children, and marrying more than one woman at a time, then I think the state has to intervene.

I think the state is taking its time gathering all of the facts so that they can charge the right people with the right crimes. Apparently children being taken from their homes while CPS does their investigations is the norm, not the exception, so these folks donīt seem to be being discriminated against.
