Hi. My daughter is 5 1/2. I wanted her to attend public school last school year, but our home district is very strict about their enrollment age, regardless if they child is ready emotionally and mentally for instructional learning. I studied to be a teacher and thought about homeschooling her then. Instead, I sent her to a very good preschool, which she loved and enjoyed. Now, a year and 1/2 later, my daughter does not want to attend the public school. Iīm waiting to enroll her in a public charter school,(which is where most of her preschool friends attend) but school is starting at that school in 2 days and public school in one week. I donīt want to force her to go to school if sheīs not going to be happy there. It doesnīt make for a "good learning" environment, if the child is scared. How can I go about teaching her at home until she is accepted at the charter school? Home schooling is a new concept for me, but I was certified to teach K-6 before I had my own children. (and to work as a teacher to pay just for daycare, was ridiculous, so Iīm a happy SAHM and my kids are smarter for it!!:) Please email me back at the address listed above and if it doesnīt come along with the message, here it is heidim_425926@hotmail.com
Sincerely,
