Howard is right that if your daughter is college bound, you will want to check with potential colleges to see their admission requirements.  I think its also important to look at what math subjects were taken and not just how many.  For instance, if 9th, 10th, and 11th grade are pre-algebra, algebra I, and geometry, you will probably want to do a 4th year of math.  If 9th, 10th, and 11th were AlgebraII, Geometry, and trigonometry, then the 4th year may not be as important, as some of the "high school" math was taken in junior high.  Colleges usually have specific guidlines for WHAT math courses they want to see on the transcript.  My son is not taking math or science this year (12th grade) but he has completed math through trigonometry, and is not heading into a math/science major.
